What Can I Do To Get Rid Of Acne Permanently?

My Skin and Acne

My Skin and Acne

Question:

What can I do to get rid of acne permanently?

I have acne that I've been dealing with since I was very young and I'm in my late teens now. I've always eaten right, had plenty of water and worked out.

I've used everything...

- Noxzema
- Clean and Clear
- Neutrogena
- Ambi

...and still nothing has worked.

In the picture it is kind of hard to tell that I have acne but it is there.

What can I do to permanently get rid of this low self esteem causing acne?

Camille's Answer:

Hi. Did you know that there's no cure for acne? You can treat it but if you're acne prone you'll (sadly) always be acne prone.

You're right; from your picture I can't tell that you have acne. Your face actually looks very clear but for a small blemish or two. You don't seem to have dark marks either which is a blessing for you having acne.

Does your acne look like a small rash? Do you get blackheads and whiteheads?

I'm not a big fan of over the counter acne medications since discovering natural products. The mass produced cleansers tend to be harsh and drying and can actually aggravate your condition more.

The key to getting acne free skin is keeping your pores open and oils from clogging your pores.

Have you ever used a cleanser with Salicylic acid in it? If so, what kind of results did you get?

Please tell me more about the kind of acne you have so I can give you some better direction and treatment ideas.

One more thing, I notice your hairstyle is combed down into your face. That's a big no-no for acne. The products you use in your hair and any scalp flakes that come in contact with your skin can cause acne to come on.

So please think about wearing a style where your hair stays out of your face.
