Spongy Relaxed Hair

Q: What does it mean when you have a relaxer but your hair is spongy.

A: That problem typically happens when your hair is under processed. This could be because of several things.

- Relaxer was the wrong strength (too weak).
- It wasn't applied properly (not enough smoothing).
- It wasn't left on long enough.

Or a combination of any of the above.

I'd check with your stylist, show them exactly what you're talking about and schedule an appointment to fix the problem (after doing a series of deep conditioners to get your hair ready).
