The Different Types Of Concealer

Cream Stick

This is the heaviest so it's ideal for discolorations and blemishes. It's the most difficult to blend into the skin so it's not recommended for areas that are delicate or have fine lines.

Pot

Covers completely, but blends better and tends to be more moisturizing. This one is great for areas like under the eyes.

Tube

Creamy and easy to blend, it’s lightweight and tends to wear off faster than the stick or pot versions.

Wand

The lightest, this type is great for touchups. It's just the right size to slip into a purse of pocket.

Pencil

An 'on the spot' solution it’s just right for when you have a single pesky blemish.

Tips On How To Put On Makeup Concealer

Here are some tips on how to apply makeup concealer and choosing the right one for your needs.

  • Don't try to match your skin color; always go one shade lighter. The point is to lighten the dark marks. Depending on the darkness of the area going a shade or two lighter is best.
  • Choose a concealer based on the type of imperfection you want to cover and the level of coverage you want.
  • Warm the product up on the back of your hand before applying. This makes it easier to spread and prevents it from going on thick and cakey.
