If you have biracial or type 2 hair that already has wave to it you can bring it out more by using this method.

• After you wash your hair, use your fingers to work a good waving product through it like you’re crushing paper into balls. Grab fist full’s of hair and squeeze the product in. Air dry.
• When you do this and skip combing and brushing, the end result is smooth “wet look” waves.

Braid Outs

If you want really defined waves, the braid out method is perfect for you.

• Doing single braids or cornrows on damp hair coated with setting lotion makes the most beautiful waves you can imagine.
• Braid outs are one of the healthiest methods to get waves because you can air dry instead of using heat.

Twist Outs

These are very similar to braid outs other than the fact that you twist braids rather than plaits or cornrows.

• Two strand twist or flat twist the hair using moisturizing setting lotion.
• Use perm rods on the ends of your hair to add definition.
• This is another healthy hair technique because you can air dry and skip direct heat.

Crimping Irons

Use a crimping iron to get luscious waves quickly.

• The down side of this method is the potential to singing and burning of your hair if it’s not done right.
• If you’re going to try a crimping iron, use the lowest setting and only style clean hair.
• Use a good heat protectant for insurance as well.
• If you don’t use the crimping iron often and you do deep conditioning treatments your hair will be fine.
