How do I get rid of irritated scalp?

My daughter who is five has very dry scalp and when she scratches it turn in to sores. Not only does she have dry scalp but she sometimes has white puss bumps and in some spots where the bumps and sores come they leave bald spots any suggestions.

See a dermatologist ASAP
by: Camille

Hi,

It sounds like your daughter has a serious scalp problem known as seborrheic dermatitis and that needs medical attention to get better. If it’s drawing pus that means it’s infected.

My advice to you is to take her to a dermatologist immediately to get that checked out, diagnosed and get a treatment started right away. If she’s developing bald spots as well you need to go as soon as possible before it becomes badly infected and the bald spots become permanent.
