Help For Fine Hair With Dreadlocks?

by Janice Upshur
(Lorton, Va)

Q: My hair is fine and starting to thin out what can I do about that?

A: Hi Janice. I'm not clear about your question.

The title only said "dreadlocks" and then you go on to say your hair is fine and starting to thin.

Could you please tell me if:

1. You have dreadlocks that are fine and starting to thin.
2. You have fine and thin hair and you want dreadlocks.
3. Writing dreadlocks was an error and you just want help for your fine and thin hair.

Please respond ASAP and I'll be able to help you better.

Thank you.

Starting Dreadlocks With Fine Hair
by: Anonymous

I'm starting to grow dreadlocks but I have fine hair. Should I make them bigger so they wont snap off?

Camille's Answer:

Hi. Yes you definitely should. If you make them too small the weight of the hair will snap the dread off as it gets longer. It's best to make them a little bigger from now because they will natural get "skinny" as they grow out.

If by chance one of them still gets too skinny later on you'll have to join the weak one to a stronger one at the base, or fuse two weak ones together to make a larger stronger dreadlock.

Hope this helps!
