Growing Hair Back After Serious Damage

Q: My hair came out after getting a perm.

I believe the perm was old and it completely took the hair out in certain places, so much that it was smooth on some parts of my head.

How do I grow my hair back?

A: Oh my goodness. I'm so sorry to hear about this mishap with the relaxer.

The first thing you need to do is stay away from relaxers for a while and focus on getting your hair back to it's strength.

I can guarantee you that if the perm took some of your hair out completely that the hair that didn't get taken out is most likely damaged.

That said, the only thing you can actively do is nourish and care for your hair. Your body will handle the re-growing part.

Here's The Plan

Your going to need to:

- Start a conditioning protein and moisturizing conditioning regimen to bring back the integrity in your hair.

- Develop a "dusting" (aka trimming) schedule to get rid of all damaged ends.

- Come up with simple styles you can wear to give your hair a "break" while it comes back in.

- Stimulate growth growth by taking vitamins and doing scalp massages with oils.

Let me know what products you are currently using so we can design a regimen to get you back your hair.

I'm waiting to hear from you.
