Acne Scars

Are there any acne scar treatments that have been proven to work for black skin? I have tried a couple and they haven't really worked. Please help!

The one thing that really works...

Hi,

I get asked this question a lot and I wish I could tell you that there’s a magic product out there that can banish acne scars for good overnight.

If I did though I’d be lying and I don’t want to do that.

You know that our skin is sensitive and if you’re like me if you get looked at too hard you bruise!
For acne scars there’s a 1-2-3 system I like to follow to get rid of them.

1. Stop new acne from forming by finding out the cause and treating it. If you keep getting new acne, it will seem like the scars never disappear. Once you can stop new pimples from forming you can tackle the leftovers from the old one.

2. Get your skin cells turning over faster by following an exfoliating regimen. A lot of the problems we have with our skin stem from the fact that as we age our skin cells don’t shed as fast as they used to. That leads to things like roughness, uneven tone and texture and oiliness.

By using gentle exfoliating techniques and getting the old skin to shed off, over time the new skin that’s not discolored gets exposed.

3. Protect your skin from the sun so the problem doesn’t get worse. The sun only makes acne scars worse and darker so they take more time to fade. Wear a good SPF face lotion and a hat when you can to protect your face from sun damage.

Two things that I do know works to improve skin are black soap and pure Shea butter. Both natural and have helped a lot of women to even out their skin tone. Not instantly of course but over time it does help a lot.

Have you ever tired those? Also, what’s your regimen like at the moment?
